IndustriALL affiliates organized rally to promote "Stop Precarious Work" in Armenia
Rallies were held in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where IndustriALL affiliate SMEFI marched from RTC X road to the Labour Commissioner's office where a memorandum was handed over. The memorandum called to a stop of precarious work and effective rights of freedom of association and collective bargaining.
SMEFI Odisha observed the Precarious Work day by holding several demonstrations and rallies in different of parts Odisha like Keonjhar, Paradeep and Cuttack.
In Jamshedpur, more than 500 workers participated in the rally.
Shipbreaking workers in Mumbai and Gujarat demanded the ratification of Hong Kong Convention, leaders also emphasised on the social security benefits and safety at work place.
With the support of IndustriALL Cambodian affiliates agreed to conduct activities in front of their factories during lunch time on 7 October 2015.
Some members held posters " Stop Discrimination Against Pregnant Women" and "Stop Precarious Work"
Union leaders, especially women read out the statement to share the message to all members about these two issues above.
In some cases where thewere two affiliates in the same factory, joint activities took place like at Choo-Hsing Garment Factory.
The union called on all their members to engage in this campaign to ensure greater safety at work and permanent jobs.
The Youth Section of the national union confederation SSM organized a workshop where they raised precarious work issues, SGIP Youth participated in it.
They printed the campaign leaflet and distributed it, and also shared it on their Facebook.
