Pharmatec Pakistan unlawfully fires workers

Today, marks the anniversary of the 2013 industrial homicide that killed more than 1,100 people and injured thousands more, as the Rana Plaza collapsed onto garment workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This year, the anniversary coincides with the final vote in the European Parliament on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, which, if adopted, would make the respect of environmental standards, human rights including workers’ rights mandatory along global value chains.

On 19 April 2022, more than twenty leaders and activists of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions (BKDP) were detained by the State Security Committee. While some of them were released afterwards, many of them are still in prison, and those who have been released are under constant harassment and persecution and have been placed on undesirable lists that make it impossible for them to receive adequate health care and apply for jobs.

ILO agreement takes important step for living wages

 We have received information from private sources and public media that the Office of the Russian Federation Prosecutor General has declared IndustriALL Global Union as ‘undesirable organisation’. The reasons for this announcement have not been made public.

Saint-Gobain Eupen workers still uncertain about future
