STOP Precarious Work

On 7 October, the World Day for Decent Work, IndustriALL Global Union calls on affiliates to mobilize their members and join the global fight to STOP Precarious Work.

Unions are pushing against this tide by organizing precarious workers, fighting laws that expand precarious work and mobilizing in support of secure employment with good pay and working conditions.

Big win for contract workers in Pakistan

After ten years, on 4 April, 55 contract workers at IFFCO Pakistan were finally granted the status of permanent workers by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Indian coal workers successfully bargain for a wage raise

To commemorate International Workers’ Memorial Day a group of shop stewards from different trade unions in Sub-Saharan Africa came together, in Ghana, to visit and learn about adherence to occupational health and safety standards at state-owned Tema oil refinery and Trafigura’s Tema multiproduct terminal known as Blue Ocean. As symbols of remembrance the workers and delegation wore black ribbons and carried black candles.

Madagascar’s revised mining code must include workers’ and human rights

Union signs collective agreement with ArcelorMittal Liberia

After five months of negotiations, the United Workers Union of Liberia (UWUL), which is affiliated to IndustriALL Global Union, signed a collective bargaining agreement with steelmaker ArcelorMittal Liberia on 12 March which will benefit 1,260 workers and create 400 permanent jobs.
