Les concessions portent sur l&rsquo;abandon du r\u00e9gime de retraite actuellement en vigueur pour les personnes nouvellement embauch\u00e9es et l&rsquo;augmentation du financement des d\u00e9penses m\u00e9dicales pour tous les salari\u00e9s. L&rsquo;entreprise g\u00e9ante de service public a formul\u00e9 ces demandes bien qu&rsquo;elle ait enregistr\u00e9, l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, un b\u00e9n\u00e9fice net de 1,1 milliard d&rsquo;USD.<\/p><p>Les n\u00e9gociations entre l&rsquo;entreprise et les membres lock-out\u00e9s du syndicat des travailleurs des services publics d&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique (UWUA) n&rsquo;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 prometteuses. L&rsquo;UWUA, qui est affili\u00e9 \u00e0 IndustriALL, n&rsquo;a pas l&rsquo;intention de reculer devant l&rsquo;attitude brutale de l&rsquo;entreprise. Une grande manifestation de soutien aux victimes du lock-out a eu lieu le 17 juillet dans Union Square \u00e0 Manhattan. La manifestation \u00e9tait organis\u00e9e par AFL-CIO de l&rsquo;\u00c9tat de New York et par le Conseil central de la main-d&rsquo;\u0153uvre de la ville de New York.&nbsp;<\/p><p>IndustriALL Global Union a \u00e9crit au directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Consolidated Edison pour lui demander de mettre fin au lock-out et de d\u00e9clarer que les concessions exig\u00e9es sont inacceptables. (voir la lettre <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/documents\/UWUA\/industriall_to_kevin_burke_con_ed.pdf\">ici<\/a>)<\/p><p>Le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de IndustriALL, Jyrki Raina, a \u00e9crit de son c\u00f4t\u00e9: &ldquo;Je vous demande instamment et fermement de mettre fin au lock-out inacceptable de Consolidated Edison. IndustriAll Global Union se tient aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&rsquo;UWUA pour soutenir sa revendication pour une solution \u00e9quitable et juste face \u00e0 cet assaut brutal contre ses membres&rdquo;.<\/p><p>Pour donner un soutien solidaire suppl\u00e9mentaire aux \u00e9lectriciens, IndustriALL a \u00e9galement recours \u00e0 la puissance de ses r\u00e9seaux miniers. Vincent Calarco, pr\u00e9sident administratif de Newmont Mining et membre du conseil d&rsquo;administration de Consolidated Edison \u00e0 New York, avait recueilli, en 2011, 495.000 USD d&rsquo;indemnisation chez Newmont et 220.000 USD suppl\u00e9mentaires chez Con Edison. IndustriALL et l&rsquo;UWUA demandent aux travailleurs et travailleuses et aux syndicats \u00e0 Newmont Mining de m\u00e9diatiser l&rsquo;association de Vincent Calarco avec l&rsquo;entreprise.
