L&#8217;entreprise a annonc\u00e9 \u00e0 23 salari\u00e9s qu&#8217;ils recevront  toutes les indemnit\u00e9s de licenciement auxquelles ils ont droit, conform\u00e9ment aux dispositions de l&#8217;accord assur\u00e9 par leur syndicat.<br \/><br \/>Quant aux neuf salari\u00e9s restants, une solution devrait \u00eatre trouv\u00e9e dans les prochains jours, d\u00e9clare Martin Schutz, organisateur du syndicat australien Manufacturing Workers&#8217; Union (AMWU). &#8220;Mais nous poursuivons notre campagne jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce que le dernier salari\u00e9 ait \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gralement indemnis\u00e9 &#8220;.<br \/><br \/>Le conflit Tristar a commenc\u00e9 quand l&#8217;usine a effectivement mis fin \u00e0 ses op\u00e9rations en avril 2006, tout en gardant les membres les plus anciens de son personnel, dont certains travaillaient depuis 45 ans dans l&#8217;entreprise, pour \u00e9viter de payer les indemnit\u00e9s de licenciement. Tristar Steering and Suspension tentait de se servir de la nouvelle l\u00e9gislation australienne sur les relations industrielles pour \u00e9conomiser des centaines de milliers de dollars en gardant des salari\u00e9s &#8220;au ch\u00f4mage&#8221; sur les registres du personnel jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 l&#8217;expiration de la dur\u00e9e du contrat avec le syndicat.<br \/><br \/>La convention collective, qui sp\u00e9cifiait le paiement de quatre semaines de salaire par ann\u00e9e de service en cas de mise au ch\u00f4mage technique, prenait fin en f\u00e9vrier 2007. L&#8217;entreprise attendait l&#8217;expiration des conditions sp\u00e9cifi\u00e9es dans l&#8217;accord pour n&#8217;\u00eatre oblig\u00e9 de verser que 12 semaines de salaire aux membres du personnel mis au ch\u00f4mage.<br \/><br \/>En plus d&#8217;assurer aux salari\u00e9s les indemnit\u00e9s auxquelles ils ont droit, la campagne Tristar a r\u00e9ussi \u00e9galement \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger du m\u00eame sort des milliers d&#8217;autres travailleurs\/euses en Australie. Embarrass\u00e9 par la publicit\u00e9 autour de cette affaire, le gouvernement australien a prolong\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 12 mois la clause de licenciement pour ch\u00f4mage technique.
