La brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero sigue existiendo, a pesar de que muchos pa\u00edses han aprobado leyes sobre la igualdad de remuneraci\u00f3n y ratificado el Convenio 100 de la OIT de 1951 sobre esta materia (que tiene una tasa de ratificaci\u00f3n del 93 %).<\/span><\/p><p style=\"margin:0cm;text-align:start\"><span style=\"font-size:medium\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, sans-serif\"><span><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-style:normal\"><span><span style=\"font-weight:400\"><span style=\"letter-spacing:normal\"><span><span style=\"text-transform:none\"><span><span><span><span><span style=\"text-decoration:none\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"color:#212121\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\" style=\"width: 600px;height: 286px\" \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p>La autora del Conjunto de herramientas de equidad salarial, la doctora Jane Pillinger, es experta mundial en equidad salarial y violencia de g\u00e9nero en el trabajo, y ha trabajado con sindicatos en igualdad de g\u00e9nero durante los \u00faltimos 35 a\u00f1os.<\/p><p><\/p><p>Pillinger resume en <strong>cinco pasos<\/strong> las medidas que los sindicatos pueden tomar para cerrar la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero:<\/p><ol><li><strong>Sensibilizar&nbsp;<\/strong>sobre las desigualdades salariales entre mujeres y hombres, las causas de la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero y por qu\u00e9 es un tema sindical clave.<\/li><li><strong>Abordar las causas estructurales<\/strong>&nbsp;de la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero, como la proporci\u00f3n de las responsabilidades de cuidados que recae sobre las mujeres y la infravaloraci\u00f3n de su trabajo y habilidades, una cuesti\u00f3n cr\u00edtica.<\/li><li><strong>Necesitamos transparencia salarial<\/strong>. Los sindicatos no pueden negociar para eliminar la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero si no tienen informaci\u00f3n. Deben buscar datos sobre la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero y construir estrategias de negociaci\u00f3n acordes.<\/li><li><strong>Abordar el problema de los trabajadores mal pagados en la econom\u00eda informal<\/strong>&nbsp;mediante la construcci\u00f3n de estrategias para que los salarios m\u00ednimos sean dignos, tanto a trav\u00e9s de la legislaci\u00f3n como de estrategias de negociaci\u00f3n con los empleadores y las autoridades p\u00fablicas. Asimismo, es importante que los trabajadores informales puedan construir sus derechos en relaci\u00f3n con la protecci\u00f3n social y el reconocimiento por su trabajo.<\/li><li><strong>Encontrar herramientas y estructuras&nbsp;<\/strong>para ubicar la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero en el centro de las negociaciones sindicales. En lugar de que represente un problema marginal de igualdad de g\u00e9nero deber\u00eda, por ejemplo, incorporarse como tema medular en las negociaciones salariales y convertirse en una estrategia importante para los sindicatos en el futuro.<\/li><\/ol><blockquote><p>&ldquo;La decisi\u00f3n de desarrollar este conjunto de herramientas para cerrar la brecha salarial de g\u00e9nero proviene de muchas discusiones en nuestro comit\u00e9 de mujeres.<\/p><p>Nos damos cuenta de que todav\u00eda hay un malentendido cuando se trata de exigir igual salario por igual trabajo e igual salario por trabajos de igual valor, y este conjunto de herramientas lo aborda de manera sobresaliente.
