Unique opportunity for trade unions

GENEVA: Workers have been divided into two working classes: white collar and blue collar. With new technology, a challenge and possibility to unite working people, instead of divide them, presents itself. But the trade unions have to seize this unique opportunity, writes the IMF’s general secretary, Marcello Malentacchi.
He refers to an Ericsson plant in Sweden where three local unions have decided to join as one union to represent their membership at local level.
